Photo Essay: Edinburgh

Even though I was only in Edinburgh for a day, I took hundreds of photos as I explored the city (trying not to bump into anyone or trip over anything as my eyes were fixated on the beautiful buildings surrounding me) and figured a photo essay would be the best way to share the rest of my time in the city with you! After the high-up city views of Edinburgh after our hike up Holyrood Park, scouring the streets for the best – and cheapest – place to fill our bellies, and checking out the “other side” of the city, here are the rest of my photos.

Where To Eat In Edinburgh

After spending half a day touring around the city, the question that you’re probably going over in your head is, “where to eat in Edinburgh?”. If you walk down any street, you’re sure to pass dozens of unique cafes and enticing restaurants, making it even more difficult to settle on just one (especially if you’re only in Edinburgh for a day and/or if you’re the worst decision maker when it comes to food.. Guilty!).  Here are a few options of where you can grab some grub in this city.

Things To Do In Edinburgh – Princes Street

With no itinerary or plan in mind and given our limited amount of time in Edinburgh, we mainly just wandered about the city (and also went on a beautiful hike up Holyrood Park!), taking in all of the historically beautiful buildings and overpriced food and drink. There are many things to do in Edinburgh, but with only an hour left before our train departed, we aimlessly walked a bit further away from the city center and crossed the North Bridge to get to Princes Street just to see what was on the other side of the main city.

Holyrood Park Edinburgh – Things To Do

Only have a day to play tourist in Edinburgh? One thing you should definitely have on your to-do list is a quick climb up Holyrood Park to experience a panoramic view of this incredibly beautiful city. The park is easily accessible as it’s located right in the middle of the city, just a short walk from The Royal Mile, and it won’t take up much of your day if you’re on a tight schedule. Holyrood Park Edinburgh is a royal park and is home to the tallest point in the city; Arthur’s Seat at 251 meters.
