Even if you haven’t heard of Alfresco Lane in TST East before, it’s very likely you’ve seen the area from across the harbour during the holiday season with its buildings (Tsim Sha Tsui Centre and Empire Centre) completely lit up with Christmas-themed lights. At the bottom of these buildings, lined up along the harbour, is where you’ll find Alfresco Lane; a row of great restaurants with outdoor seating. Besides offering diners a chance to eat outdoors, the restaurants are spacious and inviting (both of which we all know HK needs more of). Whether you’re looking for a new happy hour spot, the perfect place to see the light show and take in some views of the harbour, or are wanting to explore a side of the city you haven’t yet, Alfresco Lane has you covered.
If you live in Hong Kong, or have been there on business or pleasure, you probably know two things: 1) buying drinks at a bar is damn expensive and 2) happy hour is a pretty big deal. Clearly, there is a correlation between the two.. So, while most people are happy with 2 for 1 drinks on selected drinks, I’m always out looking for just how far my hard earned HK dollars will take me. I’ve struck gold recently and wanted to introduce you to my new-found happy hour haven at Linguini Fini.
Hong Kong has one of the best and most widely spread happy hours I’ve seen in any large city. Most happy hours run from 4 – 7 pm and usually consist of a buy-one get-one free or 50% off standard drinks, house wines, and beer. No complaints if you’re looking for somewhere to unwind after a long day of work (unless of course you work past 7 pm, in which case you’re much more limited in bar choice and should maybe, probably, definitely consider switching careers).
