Lots To Like: The New Swim & Dine Package At The Hyatt Regency Sha Tin

October 28, 2015

If you’ve been in Hong Kong long enough, you’ll soon find a break from the city’s busy streets and skyscrapers is desperately needed, even if it’s just for a day. Without having to travel very far, the Hyatt Regency Sha Tin has made a beautiful escape possible for locals and travelers alike with their new Swim & Dine Package. This package includes four hours of pool and/or gym use, and a $300 HKD dining credit at the Pool Bar. It definitely doesn’t get much better than this in Hong Kong!

The new Swim & Dine Package is perfect for families and couples, as well as if you’re looking to spend a relaxing day by yourself (’cause we all know those days are definitely needed and definitely deserved). As it’s available every day of the week in three different four-hour time slots, there really is no excuse not to head over to the Hyatt Regency Sha Tin for a day of fun, food, and relaxation.

Whether you want to get a little bit sweaty at the fitness facility before jumping in the pool or if you’re just wanting to lay on a lounger with a beverage by your side catching up on that great book you haven’t had the time to read, this package has you covered.

The Fitness Facility

Hyatt Regency Sha Tin’s fitness center boats new equipment in a fairly large facility. We loved the floor to ceiling windows by the cardio equipment that looked out onto the pool area, making for a good incentive to hit the gym hard and fast in order to reward ourselves with some downtime sitting by the pool!

The Pool

The outdoor area at the Hyatt Regency Sha Tin has plenty of lounge chairs and a large pool for swimming lengths, splashing around with the kids, or floating around in a tube. The atmosphere around the pool is calm and relaxing, even during the weekend. Wifi is also accessibly by the pool, so if you’re needing to do a bit of work, listen to some music on Spotify, or make your friends jealous by sending photos of your time at the Hyatt, you’re covered.

The Food

The Pool Bar, where you can use the included $300 HKD dining credit, can be found right behind the pool. You can either sit by some of the tables by the bar overlooking the pool, or order your drinks and food to your lounge chair if you’re feeling extra lazy (totally us!).

The menu has a wide range of drinks and a variety of Western and Asian dishes. We began with some healthy beverages in a weak attempt to balance out the food we were going to order shortly after (Balance Smoothie [$55 HKD]: banana, orange, blueberry, cocoa powder, ground hazelnut, soya milk. Antioxidant Supreme Juice [$53 HKD]: blueberry, strawberry, mango).

A starter of calamari ($98 HKD) came out next and, though the calamari pieces were thick and juicy, the dish could have used some type of sauce or seasoning. For our mains, we ordered the gnocchi with spinach, sun-dried tomato, and garlic ($178 HKD), which did not disappoint as many have before in HK, and a simple pepperoni pizza ($188 HKD).

Verdict

The Hyatt Regency Sha Tin’s Swim & Dine Package is a great mini escape from the city center and is one of the best valued hotel day packages we’ve come across in Hong Kong. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the facilities are great, service is prompt, and the food and drinks will leave your tummies happy!
