foodpanda: Green initiatives for any occasion

July 28, 2019

If you live and work in Hong Kong, odds are you’ve heard of foodpanda before. Arguably Hong Kong’s best food delivery service, foodpanda makes ordering and enjoying delicious food a breeze. Whether you’re hard at work during the week or are having a lazy weekend, there are hundreds of great restaurant options for you to order from on foodpanda so you don’t need to push your way through those lunchtime crowds or leave the comfort of your couch to get food. Most people relate food delivery to items like pizza, burgers and fries, and pasta. foodpanda is here to change your thinking to something a little more green.

My favourite ‘green’ restaurant on foodpanda

Although foodpanda definitely does offer up some quality junk food for delivery when the mood strikes, they also have some fantastic green (vegetarian) options as well. One of my favourite restaurants to order from on foodpanda is MANA! Central. Serving up a solid selection of vegetarian and vegan options, including flats, burgers (with three different veg patties to choose from), salads, the most delicious thick-cut fries with garlicnaise, dessert, fresh-pressed juices, and fair-trade and organic single-origin coffee. This is one of the few vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurants that I’ve been to where I finish my meal and I’m perfectly satisfied.

Another restaurant on foodpanda that offers up a great selection is Green Common. Green Common is a plant-based concept store that was developed by Green Monday (you can read more about Green Monday below). They believe in mindful eating and their menu reflects exactly that; plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and even Buddhist-friendly options available.

foodpanda also participates in a few green initiatives in Hong Kong, like Green Monday, which encourages people to eat green throughout the day and at least once a week in order to tackle climate change and works towards making sustainable living easy. Established in 2012, Green Monday has helped to promote the reduction of our carbon footprint by working with individuals, restaurants, and schools to do so.

You can easily participate in Green Monday, whether on Monday or any other day of the week, by visiting foodpanda’s selection of vegetarian restaurants in Hong Kong. You’ll be surprised at just how many green options are available.

Taking a step in the right direction

The next time you think about ordering from foodpanda, remember that there are so many more options than just junk food. foodpanda makes eating healthy so much easier with their vegetarian options and range of restaurants that serve high quality food. Happy (green) eating!
